Spring Break posts are coming soon....I PROMISE!!
But today, I proved what an upstanding citizen I am of Barcelona and I wanted to share.
I was in the Boqueria (a really famous open air market in the middle of BCN) with some girls in one of my classes waiting to do an interview. We were standing next to one of the many fruit stands, waiting to interview a woman when a poorer looking man walked by and slide a carton of fruit under his arm.
So I yelled to the woman who owned the booth "Excuse Me!!" (for some reason I didnt think to yell to her in Spanish) and in the meantime (of me getting her attention) the guy stepped backwards and slid the fruit back onto the stand.
Never the less, the woman caught him and started yelling at him in Spanish, he kept saying "I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." really slowly. The woman tells him next time she'll call the police, thanks me and we think the situation is over. But no. The man turns to me, very slowly make a huge gesture and gives me the finger. He then proceeds to say (and I quote) "F* you, F* you (and more very inappropriate things)"
I pretty much thought he was going to stalk and try to stab me but he moved pretty slow, so I think I could have taken him. (For all of you who are seriously concerned, it was very crowded, plenty of people around and I wasn't alone, dont worry)
So I stopped un ladron (robber, in spanish) today. Good deed!!!
Adios!
